How long have you been an artist?

I have been drawing since I was a little girl. I doodled on everything, even my homework! I have always drawn and painted. I cannot remember a time when I was not doing something artistic.

Why paint the fairy worlds?

I have also been drawn to fairy tales and love reading about kings and queens, dragons, fairies, and all the other things that make up an exciting tale. I have a huge collection of children's fairy tales.

I have always been able to draw people well, so this also led me to paint fairies and all things magical. I just don't have an interest in painting houses, landscapes, etc.

How do you begin a painting, and what type of materials do you use?

Many times, I will come across an image of a person in a magazine, and that will spark an idea. I also have created a large reference file from magazines and my own personal photos. I have everything you can think of in this file, from tigers, frogs, old and young people, to different images of weather conditions (sunset, rain, etc.). I will then combine many images into one painting.

Once I have an idea in mind, I will then make multiple sketches until I am happy. I then transfer this on my light table onto 140lb cold press Jack Richeson water color paper. Sometimes I use ink, sometimes not. Then I slowly build up the painting with many glazes of color.

Can I use one of your images to get a tattoo?
