About Sue Baker

Hi!

My name is Sue Baker and I want to thank you for visiting my website! I live in Raleigh, NC with my husband and two teenage sons (my eldest has just started driving, and I am so not ready for that!) We have two big dogs who are spoiled and four (did I mention 4?) ferrets. We live in a yellow house with green shutters that I have surrounded with tons of flowers. Flowers are my other passion, besides art.

I am a self-taught artist and tried many mediums before settling on colored pencils and watercolors. I have been drawing since forever! At age ten I even put together a portfolio! I had how-to drawing books coming out of my ears.

I also sculpt one-of-a kind character art dolls complete with over-the-top costumes. And I'm a photographer, and I work with stained glass. (My husband says I need to wear blinders when I go into an art store and only get what I came in for!)

I have tried painting landscapes, animals, houses etc., but I have always been able to draw people very well. And since I love all things magical, it just seemed natural for me to paint the magical world of fairies!
